We have confirmed that products of our subsidiary, Kyowa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., were listed on a Chinese e-commerce site with packaging different from that of the authentic products. The listing also made unauthorized use of our registered trademark logo, product name, and the name “Kyowa Chemical Industry” (by using the phrase “日本协和化学工业株式会社特许授权制造”) [see photos on the right].
As a result of an investigation by the relevant local authorities, it was confirmed that the seller had created the package design on their own. Following administrative guidance from the authorities to the seller, the product listing has been removed from the e-commerce site.
We attach great importance to the proper protection of intellectual property rights, and we will continue to promote the proper use of our trademarks from the standpoint of respect for intellectual property.
